In the photo above, Mary J. Blige and Oprah Winfrey celebrate on stage at the end of a charity walk sponsored by Winfrey called “Live Your Best Life Walk” in New York today.

Over 30,000 walkers will take over New York City streets on Mother’s Day, May 9, to raise money for charity as part of Oprah’s Live Your Best Life Walk. Participants will start at Pier 86, along the Hudson River, and match through the city to Times Square. The event is part of a weekend-long celebration that commemorates the 10 year anniversary of O, The Oprah Magazine.

The walk benefits ten charities, ranging from Share Our Strength, a nonprofit working to ensure no child in America goes hungry, to the ocean protection organization Oceana, to the Best Friends sanctuary for abused animals. Each walker can select from the list the cause and charity they want to support. For those unable to join the walk, there are still options available to fundraise or donate online to contribute to the nonprofits.
