1. David Duchovny: Duchovny is best known for his role as Agent Mulder on The X-Files and more recently as Hank Moody on Californication. Before beginning his career, however, Duchovny received a master’s degree in English literature from Yale University.

2. Rowan Atkinson: If Atkinson’s name isn’t familiar, you’re likely familiar with one of his most famous characters, Mr. Bean. Although Atkinson has made it a career playing the idiot, he is far from it. Before acting, he first got a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Oxford.

3. Shaquille O’Neal: Shaq’s degree came later in life. After earning his bachelor’s degree in 2000 in general studies, he went on to earn his MBA online through the University of Phoenix.

4. Sigourney Weaver: Before her acting career took off, Weaver earned a master’s degree in art from Yale University’s School of Drama.

5. Bill Cosby: Famous for his stand-up comedy on everyday life, including giving his children chocolate cake for breakfast (after all, it has eggs and milk and flour), Bill Cosby believed education was important. Even while being successful with comedy and acting, Cosby earned a doctorate degree in education from the University of Massachusetts.

6. Art Garfunkel: Although he was known more for his music with Paul Simon, Arthur Garfunkle was also a math whiz earning a master’s degree in mathematics from Columbia University. 

7. Spike Lee: Though born as Shelton Jackson Lee, it was his mother who named him Spike because of how tough he was. Lee graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in Film and Television. In fact, Lee has joined the ranks of celebrity professors by teaching film at NYU and Columbia.

8. Brian May: Though his first love is being a musician, as songwriter and lead guitarist for Queen, his second love is in astrophysics. Although he took time off from his doctoral studies to be a musician, he went back to school and, in 2007, earned his Ph.D. in astrophysics from the Imperial College in London.

9. Mayim Bialik: Best known for her role as Blossom in the show Blossom, Mayim Bialik earned her doctorate in neuroscience in 2008. Most recently, Bialik has returned to acting playing Amy Farrah Fowler on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, where she plays a neurobiologist. 

10. Ken Jeong: Though Jeong is best known as a comedian, starting his career at The Improv and Laugh Factory comedy clubs and currently appearing in NBC’s Community, Jeong earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is affectionately referred to as Dr. Ken.

Knowing that so many celebrities have earned graduate degrees, doesn’t it make you feel like you could do it too? 

It’s been a while since we heard anything from actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, but she was out this weekend, enjoying a quiet evening with a small group of friends. Saturday night she dined at LAVO with a group of friends, enjoying specialties from the Italian hot spot.

Also seen eating at LAVO was Morris Chestnut, known for his roles in Boyz n the Hood and the TV series V.

Kelly Killoren Bensimon celebrated her birthday at TAO’s Worship Thursday last night. The Real Housewives of New York star, who turns 43 on Sunday, first dined at TAO Asian Bistro. Joined by friends Bensimon enjoyed Buddha Chicken, Satay Bass and Fried Rice before heading up to the nightclub where they took over the upper moat sky box. There they sipped Champagne and Mojitos and danced to the sounds of DJ Five before Kelly was surprised with a pink birthday cake in honor of the celebration.

At TAO, Perez Hilton hosted a celebrity tweet-up. Kat Graham from Vampire Diaries arrived with Hilton, as did his parents. After a meal of Wok Sirloin, XO Shrimp and Satay Bass they headed to the nightclub. Perez even took over TAOâ€s Twitter feed for a bit, sending out a photo as he requested songs from DJ Reach. At his request Reach played a remix of Grahamâ€s single I Want It All, which club goers loved.

Friday night Rebecca Mader celebrated her birthday at LAVO in Las Vegas. The actress, best known for her roles on Lost and All My Children, turns 34 on Sunday. Mader was joined by friends for dinner at the Italian eatery, enjoying signature dishes including the Kobe Meatball and Oreo Zeppole for dessert. After dinner they made their way up to the nightclub, taking over a table on the dance floor. Mader was surprised by a cake, which she playfully took a bite of, and then danced the night away to the sounds of DJ Politik.

The news broke when Famecount, a site that tracks social media presence for the world’s most influential people, announced the milestone. From the press release:

Eminem, who has seen his social media fame rocket following the release of Recovery last year, remains the third most popular star on YouTube, just ahead of Rihanna – who herself is set to break the billion view milestone within the next two weeks. Eminem is also the second most popular living star in Facebook, where he is in currently battling to dethrone Lady Gaga. However, Lady Gaga retains a clear lead over all rivals on Twitter.

Congratulations to Mr. Mathers on the achievement. Can he dethrone Lady Gaga? Presently, all signs point to yes.

Acclaimed couture designer Marc Bouwer is turning fashion week on its head this spring with the first-ever 3D fashion film. The film’s debut will take place in shifts at New York’s SoHo House on the 13th of February. Incorporating the genius of Bravo Media Inc., whose clients include Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Myspace, to name a few, Bouwer has transformed the concept of a fashion show in an innovative and exciting way.

For the past several years, Marc Bouwer has utilized technology to bring high fashion to the people, showing his collections in a virtual capacity so that everyone can have a front row seat. “It’s important to me for everyday people—children, housebound fashion-lovers, college students, everyone—to be able to access the fashion world in a tangible way,” Bouwer explains. He was one of the first designers to use Twitter, Facebook, and other social media tools to interact with his fans, and this year is looking forward to bringing this approach to the next level with the 3D show. Additionally, the use of 3D technology aids in the viewer’s ability to see all the detail and construction of the clothing that might be missed in a traditional viewing.

The film showcases Bouwer’s current collection, highlighting some of his favorite pieces including kimono-inspired jersey knit dresses. The main character travels through a virtual, ever-shifting scene on a journey of self-exploration and growth set against one of the designer’s favorite songs, “Hey You” by Angela McCluskey. As the main character reimagines herself in each new environment, her clothing shifts to reflect different clones of her core persona. Bouwer chose the most cinematic looks from the collection, allowing the film to serve as an image piece to represent the Marc Bouwer brand.

The groundbreaking spectacle needed a star and Bouwer felt that supermodel and Victoria’s Secret angel Selita Ebanks was the perfect fit. “I adore her and think she is stunning—the perfect model for this edgy, beautiful fairy tale.” Known for her exotic good looks and impeccable physique, Ebanks is much more than a pretty face. Part of what compelled Marc to use her in this exciting show is her compassion and personal mission to help people as evidenced in her work for the charity Shine on Sierra Leone.

This spring at New York fashion week, Marc Bouwer invites everyone with a love of clothes—from the fashion elite to the magazine-lover next door—into a magical 3D world of couture. Reality shifts, dreams are explored, and high fashion is so close you can (almost) reach out and touch it.

On Friday night, Slash hosted an after concert party at TAO in Las Vegas. Among his group was Laura Croft from Holly’s World.

Slash and the group, including Laura Croft, arrived upstairs in the club to great fanfare, taking over several tables on the dance floor as fans crowded to get pictures. He joined DJ Ross One in the DJ booth, announcing to the crowd that he was going to play make shift DJ and, “and interrupt your regular programming for an hour or so.” Slash started off his set with Sweet Child O’ Mine, Welcome to the Jungle and Crazy Train, setting the stage for the perfect night. After getting the party started, Slash returned to his table to watch the crowd enjoy his specially selected play list.

Carmen Electra hosted TAO’s fifth annual TAO a Go Go contest with Hpnotiq on Thursday night. Nearly 40 women competed for the $10,000 prize. The field was narrowed down to four finalists and as the contestants practiced their moves, Carmen took in the scene from an elevated sky box in the VIP moat overlooking the packed club.

When the time came for the dance off to choose the winner, Carmen made her way to the catwalk to help serve as MC. After an impressive performance Donyell Brown took home the $10,000 grand prize, and sipped a Hpnotiq Bubbles and Blue cocktail to celebrate. A six year Vegas resident, the bartender has only entered three go go contests previously. She plans to use her winnings for season tickets to her hometown Arizona Cardinals and take a cruise.

Over at LAVO, rocker Slash was spotted dining with wife Perla. The couple enjoyed Sicilian Sun cocktails along with a dinner of Oysters, Kobe Carpaccio and Tuna.

Holly Madison started New Year’s Eve with boyfriend Jack Barakat and best friend Angel Porrino for an intimate dinner at Lavo restaurant. The Golden Girl arrived to the red carpet in a futuristic deco gold one strap asymmetrical dress paired with gold sparkle peep-toe sling back Christian Louboutins. They enjoyed Lavo’s signature Kobe Meatball, calamari rings, tuna tartare, and other Italian dishes. “I love having dinner at Lavo. I love the food” said Holly. Her party then topped dinner off with the specialty Oreo Zeppole served with a malted vanilla milkshake.

Holly said she will be starting the New Year fresh with many resolutions. “Getting more sleep” is number one on her list. This upcoming year will be a busy one for Holly with projects including a new book called Showgirls Next Door, continuing with Peep Show, and the second season of Holly’s World which will expose all of her personal thoughts on Hugh Hefner‘s engagement. She mentioned, “I have a lot to say about it, but I am saving it all for my show.”

Next stop was Lavo Nightclub where Holly served as Master of Ceremonies to ring in the New Year. She entered hand in hand with boyfriend Jack and they headed straight to the corner booth in front of the DJ. Holly and Angel instantly grabbed New Year’s headpiece and noisemakers that they rocked all night! Holly said, “This year is nice because I already have a new year’s kiss so I don’t have to worry about finding one!”

She ended the night heading back to her spacious Palazzo hotel room where they continued the party until the early morning.
