Sexy Lydia from “Breaking Bad”

OK, the Lydia character on “Breaking Bad” is a little creepy, but Laura Fraser does a great job with the role, and she has a sexiness about her as well.

Bullz-Eye.com interviewed Laura Fraser about her role and she discusses the character:

BE: So who was Lydia when you got that first script? Has she evolved since you got that first script?

LF: Well, she’s certainly surprised me, to put it mildly. [Laughs.] Yeah, she’s sort of gone from cold to glacial. I mean, I thought she was a wee bit demented, but she’s positively deranged. I feel like she’s a clean-cut bonkers sociopath. Initially, I thought, “Oh, this is a woman who’s got into this, she’s stumbled into this meth world and is trying to get out of it, to do the best deal and then get out, and she’s always trying to protect her life and her daughter’s life. But now she’s choosing to be there. She does not need to be there, and all her sensible choices are in her blind spot, and she’s got an extremely zany take on rational behavior. She’s gone a little bit nuts. She’s a nutcase, yeah.

Olivia Wilde get IMDb Award in Toronto

The beautiful Olivia Wilde was presented with an interesting award at the Toronto International Film Festival and we have some great photos from the red carpet. IMDb presented her with their first-ever “STARmeter Award,” which is a fan-favorite award that recognizes stars who are perennial favorites on IMDb’s STARmeter chart. This is determined by the actual search behavior of IMDb’s more than 160 million monthly users worldwide. So she’s talented and hot, and of course she’s searched a lot. IMDb CEO and Founder Col Needham introduced the award and writer/director Paul Haggis. Olivia is wearing an elegant dress as she shows off her amazing legs and pretty feet in high heels.

If it works for Rihanna…

Rumors are that Rihanna has recently been having psychic readings and speaking with a fortune teller to help her find out which way her career is headed. The superstar can’t have that much time to herself these days, as she’s always performing on stage or in the studio, or generally just living the spoiled princess existence of a pop queen. But apparently she takes omens and signs very seriously and is concerned that her ride at the top of the charts will not run forever. So she’s asked a psychic to see what the future holds for her.

Rihanna isn’t doing something new here; people have consulted soothsayers and psychics for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. For many people talking to a psychic about what the future holds has helped them make huge life-changing decisions and perhaps Rihanna likes the idea of getting an objective view on her life through someone with psychic intuition rather than relying on her management team and friends and family for advice. In theory at least, she should get more objective advice from someone who is not connected to her and her career.

But it’s difficult to say that Rihanna is taking the lead here. Today, more and more people are consulting psychics and mediums as a matter of course. They can help make decisions about anything and they’re easily available through the internet. Most psychics now host their own sites so that potential clients can book a reading at a time that suits them. Some psychics work through larger associations like Thecircle.com and people who are new to psychic readings often feel reassurance in booking a reading through a site like this, as each of the psychics has been vetted by the site before they can become a part of it. Celebs would be guaranteed a level of anonymity in booking a psychic this way as you don’t have to meet them in person; you can have a reading over the phone, email or even by SMS.

Who knows whether Rihanna will continue to seek the advice of psychics, but one thing’s certain – if you’ve never tried something, you won’t be able to tell if it works for you or not! Try it for yourself next time you have big choices to make – it can only give you another viewpoint and it may be just provide you with the insight that you need.

Sexy “Girls” aren’t enough to make it a top show

We’ve always been impressed with the eye candy aspect of “Girls” on HBO. While we wish the rest of the cast was as free with nudity as creator and star Lena Dunham, Allison Williams, Jemima Kirke and Zosia Mamet all add a sexiness to the show that’s appropriate for a group of young New York City singles living life in the big city. In season 2, Shiri Appleby ratcheted up the babe factor as she was cast as Adam’s new girlfriend and ended up in some sex scenes that somehow became very controversial.

Still, looks will only take you so far, and the Dunham’s lead character of Hannah is so annoying that it almost ruins the entire show. “Girls” is one of the most talked about TV show in years, but mostly because so many critics loath the show while others admire what Lena Dunham is trying to do with the series. She’s certainly not afraid to take chances, and some of the criticisms have been idiotic.

The show wasn’t quite good enough, however, to make it onto Bullz-Eye.com’s annual list of the 25 best shows on television. Jason Zingale’s recent review captures their take on the show.

I had a very love-hate relationship with the first season of “Girls,” but Season Two is such a complete train wreck that it made me want to stop watching the show altogether. Dunham has created one of the most unlikable protagonists on TV (between her coke-fueled meltdown and the Patrick Wilson episode, she hits an all-time low), and Williams’ laughably insecure Marnie isn’t too far behind. In fact, the female characters have so few redeeming qualities – even Mamet’s lively Shoshanna resorts to some bad behavior this season – that it’s a wonder how the audience is supposed to keep rooting for them.

The show is still worth checking out if only for the actresses pictured above, but also because many episodes will elicit intense reactions. Check it out and see what you think.
