Are casual hookups as easy as what you see in the movies? This scene from “Knocked Up” with Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen is a classic, and for most of us also very familiar. That’s basically why people go to bars. Men and women are there to have a good time, and the oh-so-important ingredient of alcohol is present as well. Add in a dance floor and all of a sudden you have the perfect environment for quick hookups. Rogan’s character in this movie is a complete dork, but he’s also funny, and he’s even funnier when Heigl’s character is drinking shots. Of course in real life his conquest might not have been quite that hot, but it can happen.

If you’re looking for a fun rental on these cold winter nights, you can enjoy this romantic comedy that stars this stunning English beauty. “She’s Out of My League” was directed by Jim Field Smith and released in 2010. The movie stars Jay Baruchel, a young TSA agent working in Pittsburgh who falls in love with a beautiful passenger going through security played by Alice Eve. The movie is definitely funny, even while watching Baruchel’s character make a complete fool of himself. It has a typical Hollywood ending. Fans of Alice Eve will have plenty to enjoy in this movie as she looks absolutely amazing. The blonde bombshell is building quite a career as a movie star and we’ll be seeing plenty more of her in the years to come.
Of course real life rarely works like this. Finding a beauty like Eve requires work even for rich guys and male models. Still, the notion that any woman is “out of your league” is dangerous thinking. That doesn’t mean you buy into the Hollywood fantasy, but it means if you’re looking to date or hook up with a beautiful woman like her, you actually have to put some effort into it. Frankly, it’s probably much easier if a hookup is your goal. That can be a one-time thing, and women’s wants and desires can swing wildly. If you catch her when she wants it now, then your chances improve dramatically. Of course that means putting yourself out there, either approaching women in various social settings or meeting them online as you search for local sex contacts. Yes, we also had Madonna and Black Eyed Peas, but in Mars we get a star that definitely appeals to the younger generation, and particularly younger women.
The celebrities won’t be drawn to just the game. We can probably expect to see an invasion of celebrities who just hang out in Manhattan for all of the epic Super Bowl parties in the week leading up to the game. We can expect publications like Maxim and brands like Bud to have a huge presence with their parties, and this year the celebrity guest lists will be even longer. It should be fun to see how many D-Listers try to get into these parties to raise their own profile. Just showing up on a Super Bowl party red carpet can raise the profile of a celebrity dying to be talked about in the gossip rags.
Is it worth going to New York for that weekend? On the one hand these parties will be obscenely crowded and difficult to get in to. On the other hand, New York is so damn big so you’ll always find a place to party.
